A mixture of limejuice and apple juice applied for 15 minutes and washed with cold-water acts as a good astringent. Before exposure to the sun, washing face with buttermilk is another good home remedy. Rose water mixed with ice water or mint juice with rose water is excellent for oily skin care.

Moreover, the food we eat, also affects our skin. We should take a diet rich in proteins but restricted in sugar, fluids and salt. Plenty of leafy vegetables and fresh fruits are recommended. Drink plenty of water to keep the skin hydrated and flush out toxins. Regular exercise and adequate sleep help promote and oil free skin.

We should reduce the amount of fat in our diet. Avoid port fried and highly seasoned foods. Ensure that there is no vitamin B2 or B3 deficiency. By doing all this we can win the oily skin care battle.
