Monovision Monovision helps correct presbyopia - the need for reading glasses which develops around the ages of 40-45. This is when individuals first need reading glasses or bifocals for close vision. To correct this, the dominant eye - the one used to focus a camera is corrected for distance vision and the non-dominant eye is corrected for near vision.
Monovision may not be suitable for every one, yet many patients are very satisfied with the results. There is a period of adjustment needed to become accustomed to the difference of how each eye is corrected.
