Long term lasik effectiveness
American Academy of Ophthalmology researchers have reported on a long term lasik effectiveness study that found LASIK keeps on working even 10 years after the surgery was initially performed. As reported by Denver physician, and independent medical correspondent for CBS4 Dr. Dave Hnida, said the surgery "is very safe."

The research conduct by the American Academy of Ophthalmology reported "about 86 percent of LASIK surgery patients get 20/20 vision, 95 percent get 20/40 vision and 2 to 5 percent need an enhancement within a year." Icon further reports that many of its patients end up 20/15.

Long term lasik safety
Further, complication rates are extremely low. The nationwide study included clinics with a range of experience (usually well less than Icon's doctors) found that these clinics lasik complication rate was .4 percent. This include all complications including very minor lasik complications. No major complications were reported. Because of Icon's experience and technology (including Wavefront Denver lasik and Intralase bladeless lasik) our complication rate is less than this (again complications are even minor issues such as minor infections).
