Outstanding resource for articles and information about eye health and diseases can be found in the Education Center at this site.

American Foundation for the Blind

There are many resources available at this advocacy group's large-type website, including the online Journal of Visual Impairment & Blindness, fact sheets on low vision resources, including Braille literacy and technology, and internet access, closed circuit television systems magnification programs for the computer screen, optical character recognition systems and synthetic speech systems. Also available are the Helen Keller archives.

American Journal of Ophthalmology

American Journal of Ophthalmology is a monthly peer reviewed, scientific publication, and a companion to the print publication. The website includes the Tables of Contents, Abstracts, and Full-Text articles, including a keyword Search Function

Blindness Resource Center / New York Institute for Special Education

Excellent resource, with information about low vision, blindness, adaptive technology and resources. Of particular note are the links to Eye Diseases and Visual Conditions, for information on many other eye diseases.

Canadian Ophthalmological Society

Online information for the public about many eye conditions, disorders and treatments. The site is provided by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society, the national member association of medical eye doctors who provide comprehensive eye care. Ophthalmologists have specialized medical education and training to diagnose and treat eye problems and diseases and perform surgery.
